UBC Press, a hybrid-ancillary unit of UBC, is an internationally renowned scholarly book publisher and distributor with sales in Canada, the US, Europe, and Asia. Currently publishing approximately 50 books per year, the Press has an active backlist of over 1300 titles. In addition to its publishing division, the Press provides sales, marketing, and distribution services for approximately twenty selected foreign publishers.

UBC Press has a business and academic mandate and is required to balance scholarly excellence, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability in the challenging book industry. It is imperative that its business intelligence and subsequent decisions are based on sound financial assessment and operating parameters suitable to a dynamic and unpredictable market   This position is responsible for planning, developing and implementing the monthly financial reporting and budgeting processes for UBC Press and providing strategic analysis and assessment to the director and management team. In addition this position is also responsible for establishing, testing and assessing, and implementing systems and accounting processes to effectively integrate e- book sales and inventory protocols into a range of reporting functions, both internal and external to UBC Press.
