Talonbooks Launches New Website

May 19th, 2010

Talonbooks’ much-anticipated new website launched on Monday, May 18. Websites have changed dramatically since Talon first went online in the early 1990s, and our new website reflects the current trends and technology. The new site has more of a newspaper format, with rich news content available on the front page. It also has search capability, a convenient shopping cart and a browse function that allows users to peruse our titles by category. Each book page features a large cover image, enhanced descriptions and a short author biography—as well as multiple links to all the author’s other books.

We are also excited about the Meta-Talon section of the new site, which features relevant writing on writing. The idea for Meta-Talon sprang quite naturally from our interest in meta-narrative and in the provocative subtext of our titles—the text on top of the text. Thus, we want input from our authors and our most enthusiastic readers! Send us your articles, reviews, blurbs, links to author blogs and other updates for this section.

At present, we are featuring interviews with Billy Bishop Goes to War author John Gray and with Canada’s first poet laureate, George Bowering, as well as a short piece about Asian Skies, the third installment in Ken Norris’ poetic triptych.
