The ABPBC thanks all who participated in BC Book Day!

We were delighted that the Hon. Judith Guichon, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia joined us again at the BC Legislature to celebrate the day, and thank the Hon. Linda Reid, Speaker of the House, for coordinating this event. Ministers Shirley Bond and Peter Fassbender, MLAs Spencer Chandra Herbert and Lana Popham, and ABPBC Board President Kevin Williams delivered welcoming remarks that reflected on the role book publishers play in both the economy and our cultural fabric, and in particular the contributions of women. In a particularly nice moment, Minister Bond gifted two board books to MLA Spencer Chandra Herbert, who recently welcomed a son, Dev. After the speeches, the LG and Speaker toured the exhibits and met with publishers, authors, booksellers, festival directors, and representatives from other publishing-related organizations from around the province.
