BC Book Prizes on Tour

BC Book Prize finalists are about to hit the road this year for FREE events throughout the province. Two finalists will go On Tour and give FREE public readings at bookstores and libraries in communities throughout Peace Country. They are:
• Frances Greenslade, Shelter, shortlisted for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize
• Rae Mate, Pussycat, Pussycat, Where Have You Been, shortlisted for the Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature Prize
BC book lovers are invited to meet these award-nominated members of the BC literary community and purchase signed books at these public events:
Tuesday, April 17, 2012| FORT ST. JOHN
7:00 pm | Fort St. John Public Library | 10015 – 100th Avenue
Wednesday, April 18, 2012| FORT NELSON
4:00pm | Fort Nelson Public Library | 5315 – 50th Avenue South
Thursday, April 19, 2012| DAWSON CREEK
7:00 pm | Dawson Creek Municipal Library | 1001 McKellar Avenue
Authors will also visit students at elementary and high schools in Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, Hudson’s Hope, Chetwynd, and Fort St. John.

The 28th annual Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prize Gala will be held at The Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema at SFU Woodwards, Goldcorp Centre for the Arts on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Vancouver. Winners in seven categories will be announced and the recipient of the 2012 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence will be celebrated. British Columbia’s Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Steven L. Point, OBC, will be in attendance.
